I understand accessing and/or accepting mental health treatment can be challenging for all of us, but especially for the elderly due to many reasons, including transportation, frailty, stigma, availability of specialized providers, health issues, etc.. For these reasons, I decided to provide my services in the homes of Older Adults. Seniors can experience many challenges which can impact their mental health, including loss (independence, home, loved ones), medical illness, cognitive changes, physical/functional decline and financial concerns. I believe good mental health can help us enjoy life more, handle difficult situations, stay better connected to family, friends/community and keep our bodies strong.  Being in good mental health doesn’t mean we will never feel sad, anxious or “down”. But when these feelings disrupt our life or go on too long, there may be a bigger problem.  My desire is to help geriatric adults by developing a trusting relationship, empowering them to live life with purpose, dignity and respect.
